As part of our continued growth we are looking for a Linux System Administrator.
In this role you will install and maintain middle-ware software connecting operating systems, applications, or other software components in a distributed computing environment across multiple National General data-centers
Responsibilities
- All production and non-production servers and middle-ware applications – end to end responsibility, from design thru configuration till day to day maintenance.
- Cloud and on-prem infrastructure
- Automate procedures to improve stability and availability of the production infrastructure.
- Exploring and learning new technologies to take the company forward.
- Document the installation process and note configurations, modifications, and upgrades made
- Analyze business and user requirements to design and deliver appropriate technical solutions
- Work closely with internal teams such as Development, Network and DBAs
- Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
** Participate in on-call duties in production 24x7 environment

Requirements:- 2-3 years of Hands-on experience with Linux Servers Operating Systems in a production environment
- Strong Troubleshooting skills in an Enterprise environment. Including hardware, hypervisors, operation systems, networking, and applications
- Working knowledge of middle-ware and web applications installation and operation, Specifically, Apache, Apache Tomcat, NGINX, Rabbit MQ & Kafka
- Experience in maintaining DNS, NTP, SFTP, LDAP, SSL Certificates
- Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python)
- VMware infrastructure familiarity
- Proficient with networking concepts and system related services (iptables, firewall)
- Ability to manage and coordinate cross company projects and ongoing activities
- Understanding PCI or similar regulatory concepts – Advantage
- Experience with configuration managements tools (Ansible) – Advantage
- Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS) - Advantage
